Default OEM steering wheel cover... what's it look like?

here's the part number for a oem steering wheel cover for a 88-91 crx: 08717-SH3A1AH

I'm guessing its the same for an ef civic...but I cannot find any pictures or descriptions of these.

Anybody seen one?

I can't find any CRX steering wheel part listed with that number or description in the catalogs at SLHondaParts (which comes up with Honda part number 08717-SH3A1AH) or HondaAutomotiveParts (which comes up with Product no. 88789). When you search by part number at both sites, it does show up - but it does not say what vehicle it is for.

What exactly is this "steering wheel cover"? Where is it on the steering wheel? Are you sure it is an '88-91 CRX part?

Is it an accessory? If it is an accessory, it is long out of production and you won't find it anywhere.

yeah, its an accessory. I miss my leather-wrapped wheel...is there such a kit made for the 91 crx? or should I look for something off-the-shelf?

Oh, it's a leather wrap? Hmm, I'd give the HondaPartsDeals place a call and see if they can actually get that part for you.

If they can't, you may also be able to use an accessory wrap for a current model Honda, if there is one with a similar wheel diameter.

Otherwise I would just suggest using something aftermarket . . . or maybe a nice Sparco/Momo is in order. Perhaps you could call up one of the JDM parts importers and see if they could get you an SiR steering wheel for a reasonable price - it's the same as the USDM 3-spoke, only with a "factory" leather wrap.

I am a big fan of leather-wrapped controls also; I just can't stand driving cars without them anymore. The OEM wrap in my '00 Si and the Momo in my '91 CRX have me spoiled I guess . . .

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...=WDVW I've seen steering wheel covers at the Honda Parts Department at one of the local dealership. Call and ask them.
