Dashboard buzz at 2500 RPM??
ive had this buzz for two or three weeks now. it starts at 2500 rpm and sounds like it's comin from the dashboard on the left side. it's especially loud after i rev the engine and the engine is idling down (like between shifts when im off the gas). but it also happens when i slowly rev the engine above 2500 rpm. it's not a heatshield rattle - i already checked all those and it's also not the abs modulator i checked that too. anyone have any ideas/experience wit somethin like this?? help~

that 2500 rpm buzz you are hearing is from the heat shields underneath your car. That is the optimum RPM to creat sympathetic vibrations from the engine and exhaust to cause those to buzz. Trust me. Not your dash.
ive already taken off the heat shield for my cat and my header. ive had heat shield rattles before and this sounds nothing like it. it's more of a buzz and sounds like it's comin from the engine bay on the left side. anyone have any other ideas? TIA
do you have a short shifter? might be hitting the exhaust (i just had that problem).. my climate control thing rattles sometimes.. heh, my whole car is a rattle box.
nah no short shifter. yeah my car's been rattlin a lot lately.. drove the car again tonight and it definitely feels like the buzz is comin from the dashboard/engine bay, not underneath the car... o well, looks like im just gonna have to get used to it.

what kind of motor mount you have? i have energy suspension inserts all around and some stiff *** tranny mount. mine vibrate all over the dash because of it, but only at idle and when the car is hot. could also be that the engine is not running as smooth, so it transfer all the vibration to the chassis. check your motor mount

Yeah, check the mounts, I know it isn't a Honda but my GTI did the same thing after I put in poly mounts. Still rattles a bit now too

stock motor mounts.
the buzzing doesnt change with temperature. it basically happens whenever i hit 2500 rpm and up. ive stuck my head in the engine bay and have touched eveything i can see wit my friend revving the engine. absolutely cannot locate it! sooo frustrating...

i read a thread on this site stating that the abs modulator rattle is at 3500rpm and goes away after you add some brake fluid.
i just read that the IAT can also be causin a dashboard rattle. gonna mess around wit mine for a bit before work...........
any other suggestions are welcome. im completely stumped~
