dear fellow honda freaks,
i am going to buy an h22 within the next month, and was wondering if i should attempt to do the rebuild myself or pay someone, i would love the experience of the rebuild! how hard is it? also besides the fact that you send it out to bore, port and polish, balance it, how hard is it your self? im gonna need some help on the actuall rebuild itself to. any help would be appreciated greatly!

I agree with what you are saying, but at the same time he is never going to learn if he doesn't try.
I mean, to say "you shouldn't do it if it's your first time" is kind of a catch22 don't you think? There can never be a first time if he can't do it the first time

The more experienced people helping the better. Do you have any motor experience at all? What kind of tools do you have? Would the world come to an end if you fucked something up?
These are all questions you might want to ask before you decide if you want to jump in or not.

i really have no engine experience whatsoever with the internals of an engine, tools- i have a normal set of socket wrenches, i can probably borrow some from some people or buy them,
if i f'd something up it would not be the end of the world, no
what do you guys think if i had the access to the tools and the help?

go for it, all the machining will be handled by a shop anyway so the clearances wont be determined by your skill. Pick up a helms and go at it. If you have any questions Id be willing to help.

This is not a H22 build but read it anyway...</TD></TR></TABLE>
i read the whole article...VERY TIME CONSUMING FROM WHAT I SEE!...but look at it this way...once you do it the first time...you can be better the second time...and once you master it, you can make alot of money by doing other people's blocks
