Default Omni Power FULL Coilovers - Street or Sport? Your experiences/thoughts

I can't decide between the street and sport versions. My car is a daily driver but I do not mind a harsh ride. Would sports be just too much of an overkill? Share your experiences with each type like how the ride was and how they performed and if you wished you would have gone with the other version compared to yours.

This has been covered probably 100 times in the past month. Search and you'll find more information than you can possibly process before your decision date.

Sports are a HUGE overkill for the street. I don't mind a harsh ride either. But damn. I had sports, I had to sell them for financial reasons but if I could do it all over again I'd get the street setup.
You'll still have virtually no body roll on the street setup I'm sure. If you do you could always compensate with sway bars.

For a daily driver, get the street setup. Period.

I got sports on my 94 coupe and they are awesome. a little body jaring when your on a bumpy road but way worth it. really easy to adjust too.

I did search. I also searched the archive. I only found a thread from the Integra forums and it only had people that had the sports. No one had info on the streets.

Streets used to be 10k/6k, but I think they're 10k/8k now.

the rates are:

street = 10K - 560 / 8K - 450
sport = 12K - 670 / 10K - 560

I'de like to know as well.. I am thinking of getting the sports but not sure if they are too stiff for my hatch. Or will the street ones be too soft? My car will mostly be daily driven... Weekend tracked. I want to eliminate most of the body roll from the car. I had some Tein SS set pretty stiff when i had an accord with st sways and bushings and what not... So i can stand the stiffness... But is the sport stiffness too much? TIA

from what i've heard (i'm also buying a set of omni) the street setup is more then enough to stop major rollage, but if your hardcore, the sport setup is supposed to be very very harsh ride. depends on your streets haha if u have lots of potholes and cracks, your cars gonna shake to ****

I'm telling you guys sports are really harsh. Streets are more than enough.

For the daily driver.

Yes, they do. They have like 18k rear springs I think.. or something around there.

to give some perspective, the off the shelf ground control coilover kits come with ~330 F and ~250 R. you can see these are a lot stiffer than those.

I'm from NOVA. The highways are decent and so are most roads but there's the occasional pothole that can usually be avoided. Even so, with the sports you felt every little imperfection in the road, most of the time you couldn't even see the imperfection. You felt it though!

I'm leaning toward the street version right now. Sport rates seem a little too harsh for street driving. Although, my mind is not set yet so I still might change my mind. Ah, the choices in life, street or sport.

It is simple really. Do you attend any track days? Is this your daily driver? Are the roads you commute on fucked up? Do you need 12k/10k rates?

What kinda car do you have? If your car is pretty light, I think the Sport version should do.

Just got a ride in the omni streets... They were bearable for me but then again i live in OC where the streets are NOT crappy. Not too stiff as i thought they would be. Clean stiff bounce. Didn't get much of a chance on turns though. I've got an EG myself and im leaning towards the sports for myself but then again my roads are nice

The MC has me here in KC, and let me tell you- THE ROADS SUCK. Living here made me appreciate home that much more. Back to subject- will having stiff suspension make the threat of bending a rim more likely? I have my eyes on some 15 Rota's (a perennial HT favorite) for trackin' and some 17" for summer b/c I like that sort of thing.
