JDM ECU Tape???
I noticed that my JDM P72 had 2 strips of gold tape holding the lid down and was wondering if this was OEM or done by aftermarket tuners. I'll have a pic later, but have never seen this on any USDM ECU.

Um, open it up & take pics if you don't know what to look for...
If it is an obd1 p72:
There should be a 28 pin area without a socket or chip in it on the bottom right of the ecu. (ecu plugs facing left)
If there is a chip in the bottom right that has 28 pins in it then the ecu has been chipped..

see that round glass window on the chip? make sure to cover that, as shinning a light to it might erase the program.
