Default I say..

..the header is worth it! The exhaust, personally looks tasteless, and any old mandrel bent system will do.

Wow, those numbers are impressive. Is king motorsports the ony place to get mugen products? Compared the Apex'I and Greddy how loud is the exhaust.

Mugen products are always definetly worth it, Mugen and Jun, make the best stuff out there. question about how loud the mugen exhaust is, I'll double check for you, but I'm pretty sure it's actually supposed to be quieter than most other popular brands

I think the twin-loop canister is a work of art. The 3" tip is a bit much for my tastes though... The Mugen twin-loop canister is essentially a straight-through design. It relies on the exhaust waves passing each other in opposite directions through the canister to cancel out each other's sound waves to reduce noise... It is quite loud when you are getting on or off the throttle because of this - especially with the header too. It's a nice sound though...

The Mugen cat-back is the only 5th gen Prelude cat-back I have seen that produces any substantial power increase (5+ hp) on the dyno on an N/A car...

If i remember right the exhaust is for NA applications. If you wanted to use nitrous or boost you would need a different exhaust.

Yes, Mugen is 100% worth the extra money you pay for it. I have absolutely no regrets with any of the Mugen products I have purchased and I would bet that every other Mugen owner would agree. The quality and craftsmanship are unsurpassed. The exhaust is full stainless including the flanges and follows the Honda routing as closely as it can for being larger.

Warning, the sound is addictive. I have been told a few times now that my car is the "best sounding four cylinder" at the track. At cruising speeds, it is quiet as stock, but open up the throttle, and you get a nice mid-toned growl. Not too deep and not too whiney.

I have not dynoed my car, but I will tell you that it made it considerably faster. I carry a lot more speed out of turns and onto the straits which means lower lap times due to the power increase. If you are looking for performance equipment (exhaust, suspension) go to King. If you want accessories (pedal kits, seats) check out/call Northstar or King.

If only Mugen made more for the Preludes.

Brian.
