There has to be a little more I believe. Back in the day when it first came out, I remember that one of my sisters' friends had a 97 - 400something.
I pretty sure I read on IRTCA, a while back, that 97- 750, 98- 750, 00-1250, 01-1250. total sent 3,000. I think the total number produced was 5,000 a year. Not to sure about 96 and 99 though. One thing I liked about the 97's were the certificate that came with them.

It may be more than 318, but semi-conclusive evidence documentation (that memo from Acura) points more to 318.
Here it is for the new guys:

That seems more like there were only 318 sold in North America. What about the rest of the world and the US combined? Could that be the confusion with the 318, and the 750?
The DC2 ITR was homologated to both FIA Group A and Group N.
This means that at a minimum 2500 identical cars had to be produced in order to meet the competition requirements.
Not sure if that helps or not.

i know a local buddy, who hadnt been here on HT, was almost killed in a 97R back in 98-99 in a 120mph crash. He since has gotten a 00, in 00, and i havent seen him in a year, but his 00 is still living. Ill try to find pics of his 97 though, in crashed status.
