If you do a conversion correctly so that the engine retains all of its functionality, the chip will work just as well on an OBDII engine as it would on an OBDI. Now, if you're talking about using a mass-produced performance chip I would suggest otherwise as, usually, they just run your car pig rich and advance timing in the car's natural powerband so you "feel" faster when, in actuality, you're just burning more gasoline and moving your max torque peak higher into the rpm band.

I did it in my car but it was because I wanted to run a Hondata system...car works great. An aftermarket chip in your ecu tends to make the car run very rich though and have an unstable idle.

Why? Do you have high compression pistons, a built head and super aggressive cams? If the answer is "no", then you don't need any kind of computer tuning beyond, maybe, a fuel pressure regulator, an adjustable cam gear or two and some dyno time.

well no i dont have any internals thats y i was asking. i do have a fpr from when it was turboed. so i can just turn up the fp? what do u recomened i turn it to. oh i also left the walbro 255lph high press. pump in to. i just wanted alittle extra pep out of my little d16y8.

More fuel isn't going to help anything unless you have the airflow to complete the formula. You should probably use that FPR to turn your rail pressure down to a couple psi below stock, as that 255lph pump is going to overwhelm the injectors and fuel-return capacity.
May I ask why you took off the turbo system? Of course you're going to feel slow. Boost adiction is strong

well i have a cheap fpr(b+m) and its turned the whole way down. its at 40psi with vac line on. i took the turbo off cuz i was having major flooding issues and didnt have the money to get new injectors. and it is my only car. and bumin rides got old

If I were you I would consider putting the stock fuel pump back in. You'll gain back gas mileage and probably run a lot better.
