are 2 tonne axel stands safe enough to support my gs-r?
i couldn't afford the 3+ tonne units. just the 2 tonne stands.
i need to change my shift bushings, but i am curious if the 2 tonne stands are safe enough to support the car while i'm under it
thanks

2 tons = 4000 lbs. Integras weigh much less than that (about 1400 lbs. less), so divide that weight by 4 (if you're supporting the whole car) and you obviously have a lot of safety room. They'll be fine.

How they resist toppling, when you're tugging on stuff, is a completely different question. For all I know, even the 3 or 4 ton units are no better for that kind of stability.
Whenever I put the car up on ramps or stands, I grab a bumper or a wheel & try to rock the whole car just to test it. BEFORE I ever get underneath...
