Im in the market for a manual tranny for my 5th gen b/c im considering doing the auto to manual swap... Every where i look i find h22's with the tranny but i cant seem to find any trannys by them selves. I checked some of the classifieds and didn't find anything. Does anyone know where i can get just the transmission for a reasonable price? Also, if i get a used one what should i watch for to make sure its not total crap?
PS: selling the lude and getting a manual one is out of the question b/c i only have 60k on the car and its hard to find a 5th gen with decent milage like mine

 

They're on ebay all the time. They pop up in the classifieds every once in a while.

 

the ebay ones look sort of sketchy...so im a little scared
but even on ebay they usually come with the engine

 

uhh you need a lot more than just a tranny to do an auto to manual swap

Im not retarded I have read numorus threads about the swap so i know what i need. I was just having some trouble finding the tranny for sale so i needed some sources.

doesnt matter how much you read..
u'll always get stuck and u'll end up needing more then you think..
not to mention there are a bunch of nice complications which will end up makeing you tow your car somewhere and spending smore more $$ for a pro to put it in who will rip you a new @ss cuz you screwed around and he hwas to waste 3x the time it would normally take just to figure out what you did and didnt do...
id recomment selling your car then going to grab a 5'speed
i know what your thinking 5'speeds have all been raped by someone else but trust not worth the time nor money might as well just get a car like yours only 5 speed with more km;s..
then the money you save put it towards a complete jdm swap or something makes more sence in the long run if you ask me
but if you really want that 5speed and a headache go to any engine shop in you phone book should be able to grab one for a few hundred bucks..

honestly man....you would be better off selling your car and finding a 5spd....

you havent done any engine work, and your mods are very easy to remove...it would save you time, maybe money, and of course, not have any complications of putting in a new tranny.

 

Isn't that what everyone's told you the last 23 times you asked about modding your car?
