Default Suspension noises, help!

The car:

1998 Civic EX Sedan
ITR Springs
All other suspension parts stock, oldish shocks

The problem:

When I'm driving down the street and I hit a bump in the road, my car makes a clicking noise. It sounds like two pieces of metal hitting each other. Now, the car is slightly lowered on ITR springs and I'm still on the original shocks.. so maybe this is normal. I'm just worried that my wheel might come off when some bolt strips out or something. All of the lug nuts are tight. My CV boots are a bit worn.. I don't think they're cracked yet though. Does anyone have any idea on what this noise could be? I'm going to take the wheel off this afternoon and have a look at it.. what sort of major problems should I be looking for? Thanks.

Well, it's only like half an inch lower.. if that. I was told that stock shocks would be fine, maybe they're not though. Anyways, what kind of damage will occur?

may sound to simple but go back and check all the bolts, something might be loose.

The stock struts will blow out because of the drop and the uprated springs. Further, they will not dampen properly so your tires will not grip the road as they should. So I guess stock shocks are fine if you don't care about handling or safety.
