Default intake manifold chamber hose not connected= over heating?

i just pulled the head and noticed that the IM chamber hose had the opposite end broken off inside the hose which means it wasnt connnected. could that cause over heating? what does this hose do?

its the little nipple in between #45 and #15

If you're talking about the small nipple just below the number 45, then that's the vacuum source for the secondaries. That nipple goes to the black box on the bottom of the intake manifold...doubt it would cause overheating.

if it was blocked it couldn't pull vacuum and close the secondaries...so you'd run with them open all the time...which would not cause overheating

from the IM to a little diaphragm, then to a vac box i believe.

your blown HG would probably be the cause of you over heating there chief

Damn Nick, you have a blown headgasket already?

It seems like you have some pretty bad luck.

Which headgasket did you end up using anyway,
a custom one from Golden Eagle?
