ok so heres the deal, got the d16a in and running but at first when i start it, if i dont wait a few minutes to give it gas and go it stalls, then restart and will stall again if i try to go and so forth. So then once I do that and get going, 1st,2nd,3rd gears are mostly ok without hesitating or sputtering but does sometimes in those gears. But then i get into 4th and then 5th and up to higway speed or whatnot and its prtetty bad and kinda sputters, hesitates, crackles out the exhaust and then might get going. but then sometimes they are all fine, sometimes first couple gears do it, then 4th and 5th dont, its really weird. then sometimes it will till vtec then it goes away. it seems to do it most when i give it full throttle or half , light throttle doesnt do it if at all. I have burned out all the older gas that was in it and drove it about 300 miles now , new plugs tonight, new pcv, new dist cap, cleaned throttle body, newer wires, all that good stuff. i have a new fuel filter to put in in the a.m.. put in dry gas and fuel injector cleaner too. So i am curious to see what the hell it could be left and why it only does it on and off and certain gears at certain times. thanks a lot for the help and hope someone can help me out VERY VERY SOON. oh and i have the one wire O2 sensor in the motor and plugges in ok.

sounds to me like it might be the o2 sensor, check that and see where that gets you.

 

seems to be clean but the plugs i took out were balck with carbon - who knows - i am using the jdm one wire o2 with the motor it came in - says jdm ecu too but its for a d15b - didnt know if that made a difference at all - thanks
