NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was so enthusiastice about this pump, I did soooo much research, reasearched online, looked at their website, saw their ads in all the Import Magazines. It seemed like a great pump to buy,had a built in filter, low amperage draw, supports up to 2000hp etc etc. The Mighty SUmo was only rated to 750hp so I would be maxing that one out. My dealer CALLED Barry Grant and said hey we have a Honda Civic making 616whp, 1000cc injectors with a base pressure of about 55-60psi and 30psi of boost, the guys at Barry Grant said this is the pump for you! We order the pump, put it on my car with the new -10 lines, sump and all, go to prime it and start it, the pump makes this TERRIBLE noise!!!! It doesn't flow any fuel, we siphon gas and lay the pump on the ground, NADA! POS!!! Well I have a friend who had the same exact pump who was gonna run meth and his car is no where near finished, he said he would let me use his pump until mine get's repaired. We put it on the car, runs fine. ake it to the dyno make low boost tuning 16psi made 450whp, base fuel pressure was 55psi everything was all good A/F was straight and all. We go to the high boost tune 28psi, no matter how much fuel we put into the Hondata we couldn't get better than a 13.5-13:1 A/F YIKES!!!!!! The injectors are well past 100% duty cycle according to the Hondata estimated duty cycle. There is noooo way that 1000cc injectores with a base pressure of 55psi the we turned it up to 60psi are maxed out!!! We do a couple more pulls and watch the fuel pressure now, hit's maximum of 70psi then hit's 75psi and fluctuates fast between that. We look over all of ur literature on the pump and nothing, the install instructions mentions that the pump has an internally regulated bypass of 70-75psi!!! DOH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not for our imports or Hondas. They did not tell us this prior to purchasing the pump. I waited for over 3 months for the pump to be repaired and we ended up just getting a credit back on it and I now have an Aeromotive Eliminator pump!!!!
I did call Barry Grant and spoke to them about the pump, asked if they could take the internal bypass out, he said why. I said I needed higher fuel pressures, maybe 85-90psi max, the guy said "No way our pump can't handle that and you find anyone on the market that sells a pump that can!" I said Aeromotive pumps do! The guy got rude, I said we called before we bought the pump and he said noone would say that this pump would be able to handle those fuel pressure. He got ruder and ruder and I stayed calm and nice, I said well FYI you guys should put this in your ADS so Improt guys who you are targeting with realize it doesn't support the fuel pressures they may need, he said you should've called first! I said we did, we didn't realize until after dynoing the car and then saw it in the install instructions but even then it would be too late! Because we already bought the pump! We also blew fuse after fuse with this pump, I spoke to a Mustang guy with a Superhcrager making 600+whp and he had the same problems with the same exact pump, his fuel was getting heated, the pump got hot and he kept blowing fuses! So

good info, and to think i was looking into using one of these instead of the aeromotive pump i have..
Yes the Aeromotive Eliminator pump is the way to go because the A1000 is rated for 700-750hp CRANK for Forced Induction, most guys now are coming up on maxing that out, the Eliminator is good for 1100hp, that is more than anyone here is gonna need unless you are Gary Gardella, Kenny Tran and all those guys!
Then go Weldon!

You won't be disappointed!
Aeromotive has some quality pumps! You should see my Fuel Filter it is a -12 and huge! I need to get some fuel system pics tomorrow!

Terry, thats some crazy yet good info.
now I have a question. Were you see 70-75psi at the fuel pressure guage- on top of 28psi of boost? so you were actally seeing about 98-103psi at the pump?

Brian's BG just took a **** on him the other day while he was in traffic. Ran power directly to it just to test and nothing, he's only had it for ~6 months. Magnaflow

Nope started with 55psi Static and with 28psi boost should be 83 psi right? Nope 70-75psi due the internal bypass regulator, we ended up putting base pressure at 70psi to tes, same thing. You can run this pump without a regulator too, it would be base pressure at 70psi and would not give you 1:1 FPR.
BG sux IMO!

yeah we have sold some of those barry grant pumps and i would say that 3 out of 5 have come back with problems. they have a good concept, they just need to fix a couple of loose ends.

Basically! And the only way we will be able to run one with high boost is going to 1600cc injectors!

Yup, that's exactly what Brian has to run

another replacement for the barry grant pump can be the aeromotive marine pump. they are sealed and can last up to 2500 hours of straight run time. they make two different models.

And if you want to run them I have talked to st00pid you need to get your base pressure down to 25psi if you can, most regulators like Aeromotive only go down to 35psi, with my new Aeromotive Eliminator pump the lowest it will go is 45psi! So tuning with the Barry Grant pump would be hard I think! And if you did need more fuel pressure you are close to being maxed out again! Say you got fuel pressure at 35psi already and want to run 35+psi!!! The Aero Eliminator pump is good to 100psi and the A1000 is good to 90psi!

Also Weldon came out with a new EFI pump, it is pretty nice too!

I dunno if it has a 60psi max or not though.
