My friend and I were outside and a 00 SI with a tanabe racing medallion drove by @ about 5 grand right b4 stock vtech and my friend stated that straight pipes were so quiet and my rebutle was that common belief is that the tanabe is the loudest (legal) production exhausts available 4 purchase. He said that the spoon sports rear section he has on his EP3 is louder by at least 30 decibals. SO MY ? IS WHICH IS LOUDER (TANABE) AND WHAT IS THE LOUDEST OF ALL?

 

30 decibels is 1,000 times the intensity. I highly doubt that

 

i have buddyclub that **** is pretty quiet

 

there r 3 buddy club exhuasts and i know th one for the ef has no resonator and pretty much no muffler and is very loud...and the one for the EP3 is suposed to be very loud also...i have the spoon N1 on the way ill let u know how loud it is in a week or so....but 30 dbs...is a lil crazy of a number...tanabe racing medalion cant be more than 98 dbs though so the buddy club spec3? i think maybe louder
does ur friend only have a spoon muffler? cause there is a midpipe upgrade and he could also have a header....i know with a raceheader and t1r midpipe the ***** pretty loud

Tanabe Racing Medallion is LOUD

For reference sake the fujitsubo power getter on an rsx-s has roughly 94 dba. and it is supposed to be a quiet exhaust.

 

i have the spoon b-pipe with the n1 muffler on my ep and i can tell you that it is definitely louder than any of the tanabe's i've seen in the area. i think i'm gonna get a test pipe this week too .

 

This is retarded. Who cares about being loud and sounding like a GNAT! That is why people make fun of Hondas.

 

on the DC5 the Spoon N1 axle back BY ITSELF isnt that loud at all.

its when you pair it with the Spoon or T1R b-pipe that it gets loud.

Tanabe = raspy

raspy = annoying

 

I wuz just looking 4 an exhausts that has that low deep rumble sounds like the tanabe medallion but not loud, a happy medium if u will. I just want an exhausts that sez there is a SI behind me. Sort of the same idea when u here a mustang or camaro.

 

hehe. Loudest for what it's worth is a Buddy Club 3 with a straight thru centre section (no mid silencer).

The guy who had it only lasted a short while, hes now running stock centre section and a MAgnex back box. having said that mine is pretty noisy, but as I live in a quaint we village I run with the bung in most days. I have a Tanabe Style system and a jackson header, with JRSC.

 

I have an 03 RSX-S with a T1R b-pipe and Spoon N-1 muffler and I have heard nothing better yet. Funny thing is when you install the silencer it gets really quiet and does not resonate on the freeway...Making it very tolerable.

 

Umm, when I first bought my RSX, it had 2.5" piping, no cat and no resonator to a can. It was loud as hell! Enough to give me headaches. The second day I owned it, it went to a muffler shop for a resonator.

My friend of the other hand on his LS has 2.25" I believe with a cat with a muffler that doesn't muffle. That **** is loud.

Tanabe exhaust is pretty loud. A little too loud for me actually. I haven't heard a Spoon exhaust in person before.

 

I had skunk2 exhaust, no cat, on my civic EG. It sounded better when I had a modified GSR in it. Sounded like crap with stock h22a in it.
