Highest # Type R?
I know it's been discussed before many times, but the answers were always around a 1500 count for years 2000 and 2001 (USDM)... Now I've seen a relatively new member here with the # 1825 in his Username!? I have rarely seen an R higher numbered than mine, and never in the 1700-1800 range; does that imply there were a lot more USDM R's made than was previously thought?

I've got a PY 01 #1115... most other's that I've seen have been lower than mine. Besides, the number that I've always heard for 00 and 01 was 1500 per year and of those that it was an even split between PY and Black...

Whoa thats weird... I thought the 1500 number was FIRM. Too bad we can't account for ALL the ITR's sold somehow... So you plate on your armrest says #1825? Just want to make sure.
I always thought that it was 1500 too.
I aso was under the impression that there are more yellow than black.

Mine is 01858.
What is this damned number ?
did they start counting at every January 1st at no. #0001 or are there JDM, euro and USDM ITR`s with the same number because it depends on the area ?
Can somebody clear this up ?

I ordered mine after Acura told the dealers they stoped making them. A dealer in DC with supposidy 'connections' special ordered one from japan for me. When I got to the dealer to pick it up, 6 weeks later(I think), he said that 4 other people bought after me, but then honda told him no more. Mine is under 1500.
I expect either this 18xx car is stolen or the 18 is really a 13.

I was told that the VIN indicated what sequence the car was manufactured for it's respective market. Mine for example is #0096 but I was congratulated at the dealership for obtaining the first model made for the us in 2001. My VIN ends with: 0000001.
hmmm

What's "clearly not true"?
I was unclear before... and I agree, the VIN and badge numbers are not in sync.
-we just proved so.
So which is it? the VIN or Badge # that indicate the order of manufacturing?

The vin # has nothing to do with your Type R #. When I bought my car, I asked the dealer, "hey, what # R is that?" They said 1500+ (I'm not giving you the exact # for safety), but then on the armrest it said 0801. Maybe the kid is confused and the last 4 digits of the vin # is 1825?
.... However, his armrest could say 1850, and there could've still only been 1500+/- in the USDM that particular year.
I think the Canadian and USDM cars were numbered together, which would account for a few hundred difference in '98, '00 and '01.

And since Integra Rated R's car is #3190 (non-USDM), does that imply there were at least that many made that year?...
What I'm trying to find out is how many Type R's were made in any given year. There's been a lot of speculation, but none accounted for these higher numbered ones I've noticed lately.
The number im looking at was a little sticker on my door...is that also the # of the R, cause thats what i thought and its first 4 are (1825)..........am i looking in the wrong place?

There are numbers higher than 4k in Europe..
I would give you a link to the "hall of fame" of the international Type-R Club in northern Germany.. There is a gallery of R`s with ser.numbers.. unfortunatly the site is down right now.
But I wonder what you are talking of... ==> "armrest" ???
There`s no place to rest my arm... the #no is under the hand-brake...
no armrest there..

Ok i know the highest number thing for me does not apply being #26 of 2001, But the last six of the vin reads 000023 so go figure. And for only 1500 cars, what i heard is in 2001 is 150 yellow and 150 black total of 300 for the last year of production... and i thought i had some special car?!?!?!?
The numbering for the Canada and the US do not overlap...So the number are for North America, not only for the US. You can count around 500 a year sent in Canada (exept in 1999 - only 200).

My 2001 USDM has an armrest. I guess this does not apply to the Euro-specs.
