Default Partial throttle surge/jerking problem

I'm having a problem that's been happening for a while now. It's in an 88 Civic hatch that's had a ZC in it since 98. Any time I left off the gas a little the car surges or jerks. Sometime when I floor it I get a gurgle and it dies and I have to turn it off then turn the key to get it to start again (popping the clutch doesn't work). I thought it was something ignition related so I bought a distributor from Distributor King and it didn't fix it. The car is very well grounded so that's not the problem. I've tried multiple ECUs and I get the same problem. I have no vacuum leaks. Is this the TPS? Or is there something else this sounds like?

I've known lots of people with Hondas that are jerky when at partial throttle, but mine REALLY jerks, like it lurches forward 5 feet then bogs then lurches then bogs.

HELP!

Do you know if all of the fuel related items are running properly, ie. Regulator, pump, filter, injectors, etc?

No I do not. I've changed the filter fairly recently and it did it before and after that. I have checked each injector and they're all firing. The car runs ok, when it idles it misses maybe once every 25 or so seconds though. When I'm driving it, it's fine on the freeway and I drive it about 80 miles a day.

I guess next up is to try a new pump and regulator? If anyone has a set of good injectors let me know too, I'd like to get a set of spares anyways.

Also there could be an issue with timing before we start replacing things; sorry I didn't think of that earlier, I was tired.

I haven't timed the car in years but it does the bogging with the distributor at full advance, full retard, and anywhere inbetween. Since the car doesn't run like crap once it gets going I'm assuming its not the timing.

It is the tps. It's going bad... You can new one of of ebay. Don't forget to use the paper gasket from the old one. It acts as a thermaL short.
