program 99 ecu to 2001 ecu for BAR puropose
Does anyone know if any acura dealer will program a 99 ecu to 2001 ecu spec. I bought a 2001 gsr engine but the ecu has the immoblizer in it. I have a 99 gsr ecu. If I use the 99 ecu, will I be able to pass the BAR test? If not, can it be programable to 2001 from the dealer. Need some help. thanks

Doubt it can be done since the 1999 is OBD2A and the 2001 is OBD2B.
Remove the immobilizer from the 2001 ECU, a few people on H-T can do the service for your. Do a search here.

im not totally sure but if u remove the immobilizer it will give a constant cel, which im not sure would pass the BAR test, but u could always remove the check engine light bulb for bar
