the shop i had the swap done at is telling me no. and they are telling me i need $200 more dollars to get the computer that was origanally going to go in the car....WTF..... they said it needs a key and they need to take it by acura and have it programed. i think im getting yanked. if so please tell me. and please tell me if the ecu will pass bar.

Theres is an immobilizer (sp?) in 99-01 ecus, so if you put the ecu in and cant start the car then yes you wont pass. Now if you put the ecu in and the codes work and everything fine, go down to autozone and rent an OBD2 scanner and see if it reads the code. If it does your go to go.

Why not switch to OBD1, most of honda's tuning programs are for 1 and not 2 anyways... and it should get rid of that pesky problem... and the shop for that matter.. as there's guides everywhere on how to do it...

For CA State Legal BAR, You will need the ECU that came originally in USA with that motor. Example, if you put a '99 B18C1 into your car, you will need the ECU that was avaliable in the '99 Integra GSR. Not your original one. You can't use OBD1 either, it is very specific to the year (same as or newer) and every little emissions thing has to be hooked up correctly. Good luck.
