Default \\\Gas thingy missing!!!

My gas thingy is missing (the round metal thing that flops open when you fill in gasoline) my guess was its inside my gas tank, can this metal thingy will damage something in my gas tank? thnx for any help/info

the trap door thingy? that little round metal bastard(1inch diameter)?

your fuel pump screen/filter should block it out.

if you want to dump the tank and take it out, well, have fun, you need to do it under the car with a bunch of gasoline, alot of work

or the cap?

if its the door as long as you have a cap on there you should be fine.

yes, that little round metal thingy. is it necessary to take it out, or i can leave it inside gas tank? the car is 2000 LX 5spd.

im guessin you can just ride with it............theres no way that piece of metal will ride through all the lines and into your engine

The 6th generation Fill tube was designed differently and did not have that metal safety door. So you did not lose it in the gas tank.

but if you're like most americans you've already lost your gas cap, i can't tell you how many forgetful people i've chased after at the gas station
