Default Immobilizer?

Hi all. I'm new to this forum, and have a bit of what is probably an ignorant question.

I have a 94 Accord that was recently stolen. The thieves tried running it off a cliff but didn't quite succeed, so a few thousand dollars later I should be back on the road.

Total paranoia has now set in though. I've been reading that an immobilizer is the best defense against car theft. How much does it cost to get an immobilizer installed? If it's going to cost more than is reasonable, what would be the next best option to prevent this from happening again?

Any advice would be appreciated!!

dunno about the immoblizer, but an easy to remove ecu plus the use a clutch/brake/gas club would probably deter most theives just because of the time it would take to steal...but, if a thieve really wants it, they'll get it...
