This is my problem, crx 88 hf with a d16y8 put in , p28 , conversionharness from blown90hatch,and finally..a obd2 distributor stock for the y8, my problem is that i cant get my car to start because of the wiring of the distributor.It has 8 wires running from a plug while my 88 hf harness gots 9,iv tried searching but i came up with nothing.I really dont wanna give up on this project car, but i cant seem to find anyone that whould help me. This is what i have wired for now .
obd0---------------obd2
blk/yellow---------blk/yellow
Blue----------------Yellow/green
orange/blue-------orange/blue
white/blue---------white/blue
and these are the ones i got unwired
obd0(unwired)-white(by self),white(next to two wires),blue/green,blue/yellow,orange.
obd2 dizzy(unpluged)-grey,white,light blue,orange.
If anyone gots any idea where thos left over wires goes please tell me, or send me some bs wiring so at least i can try that out . Thanks Eric

 

not sure where the 9 wires come from, cause there should only be 7 going to the distributor, unless you are mixing up the other plug with the wires too. i believe that smaller plug only has two wires. anyway, this is all i can help you with for the moment - i don't have the obdII wiring, and the obd0 wiring is from memory. the thicker white is power, the cylinder sensor should be an orange wire and a smaller white wire, the crank sensor are the blue/green and blue/yellow wires, and the TDC sensor would be the white/blue and orange/blue wires. the black/yellow and the blue wire goes to the second, smaller plug, which i'm not sure what they do, i don't remember. So, i can tell you that you are already matching the wrong wires together. keep the black/yellow and blue wires out of the picture for the moment and just work on getting the other wires hooked up to where they should be. find someone who has a diagram of the obdII distributor and you should be able to match the wires correctly. good luck.

 

forsome odd reason there is no other plug with my dizzy, its just one plug with 8 wires.

 

you do not have a y8 distributor then. I just added obd1 plugs to my y8 distributor for my y8 motor and obd1 swap. there is 9 wires and 2 plugs. 7 wires for the big plug, and the black and blue yellow wires are on the smaller plug. Im sorry but if you only have 8 then you are missing a wire or dont have the right distributor.
