Default Coolant system

I am just wondering exactly what is the proper procedure for getting air out of the cooling system (or how to bleed the sytem)?

This could be a good one for FAQ. As it is something everyone should know how to do.

Thanks for your help everyone

warm up the car to about 120 or so and shut it off then just loosen the bleeder screw till it stops air bubbels to solid coolant !!!its easy

Per the Helms manual just leave the radiator cap off and start the car, and let it reach operating temperature.

Or you can use the bleeder valve, but its the harder of the two ways.

How hard is it to turn the screw until you see green (or the new blue)? This is the most thorough way. Do it right.

that filler/vac test thing is nice, but i think bleeding with cap off, then bleeding with the bleeder will cover it....dont forget to have the heater core all the way open though.....whats this talk of blue antifreeze....sounds bling....
