Timing belt balance shaft
Hey ther was up.
Listen I have a 1990 Honda Accord with a 2.2 16 valve engine.
My friend cut the timing belt out of the car and now I have to get it back up and running.
My question is like this, On the balance shaft, where is the alignment mark on the block. I have found it on the Gear, but not on the block.
It is the one that is near the passenger compartment.
All the other gear have very clear marking except this one.
Does anyone have a idea about where is marking is.
I even went to the Honda Dealershipo and looked in the service manuel, and was not able to find it.

The mark is not easy to describe, it an intersection of engine parts near the balance shaft sprocket. Following has pics to clarify.

This link has details of camshaft and balance shaft alignments. You don't want to get this wrong, so a Haynes manual would be a worthwhile investment.
good luck

there is a lil hole on the tranny that u can see if the piston is at tdc i believe. i did mine not to long along and it was farily easy. also stick a punch or somethin g in the balance shaft hole to keep everything in place.
Hey there man
Thanks for the info.
I talk to a Honda guy and there is a service hole just behind the Balance Shaft, and what you do is you remove the Hex Head cover, and insert a bolt to hold the gear in one place, It will properly line up the gear and hold it until you can finish the job.
Once again thanks.
