Anyone know the proper torque specs for the rear spoiler? I'm planning to reinstall the wing this weekend.

 

uhm......... haha maybe you should just have a shop put it back on for you. thats kinda like asking whats the torque for my oil cap.

before i laugh at you ^ yes you... may i say that i have actually "overtorqued" spolier bolts?...and yes. they snapped, and the wing is trashed. i believe its around 11 ft. lbs. i torqued them to 21 and snap. not even all that tight either.

dont just ramble and mae smart *** comments, becuase it has been done. im sur this guy doesnt want to trash an expensive OEM piece.

Maybe someone who has the proper tools and doesn't want to find out how much torque is too much?
Common sense tells me that asking a simple question is cheaper than replacing cracked body parts.

 

IMO, anything less that 20 ft-lbs is pretty much hand tight (with a nut driver). Sometimes you have to consider what you are tightening down. This is not a critical item like a suspension or powertrain component which require the correct torque spec. If you can find the torque spec then cool but if not, don't lose sleep over it and just use your judgement.
