B18A1 Surges and misses
1990 ED hatch, Si trim with a 92 B18A1.
Swapped the ECU.
Completely Rebuilt the engine. Shaved the head .020...
Gives me a code for the CYP sensor (AKA # cylinder position sensor).
The car has a surge, until it warms up.
Also has one BITCH of a miss when revving past 3000 wheter warm or not.
Can anyone help me figure out the reason for the surge and the miss? I cannot think if anything else that was wrong with the car. We timed it and retimed it and retimed it to make sure the cams were dead on. Still not sure about that one.
Anyone's advice on what to start with is greatly appreciated.

well surging is a vacuum leak/ O2 sensor problem.... try looking at your Fast idle sensor and see if it came unscrewed...... hum for the misfire try getting dialic grease (spelling??) and put some on your igniter in the distributor … just take of the wires and goob that stuff on there and it should fix that problem….. I had the same problems with my car....... oh yeah did these problems both happen at the same time or did one come and then the other??????
had a similair problem, bearing went bad in the distributor, car still ran , but had a miss every time i stepped on the gas, replaced distributor , no more problem
