does any 1 have a good idea ....for the headlight issue
oka i seen some crx and civic hatch at the track with only 1 headlight on the driver side side and the other headlight tookin off on the passager side for more air flow to the air fliter. so i was wondering how can i remove the headlight for drag use in a quick way instead of having to take the bumper off to get the headlight off... any idea ?
i have 1 idea is just take 1 10mm bolt on the bottom under the headlight housing off and just leave 2 10mm bolts on top of the headlight. and when i am getting ready to run i can simply take 2 10mm bolts off on top of the frame where it holds the headlight assy out then just slide the headlight out with out removing the bumper. Guys It hard to explain what i am trying to say but if u get what i am saying then great
so any idea out there fellas?

I have seen a few people take a funnel type thing that they made a place it in the opening of the front bumper in the middle. Attached to that funnel is a hose that channels air more efficiently into the engine bay. This way you wont have to deal with the headlight at all. I have also seen people do this on the right side of the bumper wheere the holes are for fog lights.

You can see what I am talking about here. This hole here on the bottom passenger side with a funnel mounted to the inside of the bumper. Then attached to that a hose to channel the air to the engine bay.

Dude just use a cold air intake instead of the short ram(which im assuming ur using) But the headlight idea you had will work but you might not be able to aim the headlight. And the funnel idea is a good idea too.
I left that bottom bolt off on Both my headlights. aiming is fine.. just tighten them up good otherwise it'll shake/vibrate when the car is running.. (mine don't)
As for the "drag scoop" take the glass off a spare headlight, grab a hole saw, cut certain holes (whatever works for you) paint the chrome housing flat black, and there you have it.. 'ram air' Oh might wanna zip-tie any loose wires out of the air flow's way, it gives a cleaner look when people look in the scoop (belive me, they will) Good luck!

For what you want to do, this is the best way to do it. The only draw back is that your lights may vibrate if your car is bouncy. Other than that, it's very quick to remove and reinstall. I recommend that you get a better intake though. A generic SRI will work better than your stock airbox on the track and off.

since you are still using the stock airbox i don't think it will make any difference, and definately not worth the hassel. but, if you had a cai it would have more of an effect but i still think it will not be worth all the effort.

The thought that had crossed my mind also was to take out one of the bumper light signals and have someone fab up a rectangular duct (i've seen them for sale on the net before) then run that up to the filter also.
I do suggest a metal tube of some sorts, or at least not that air box.
A heat shielded filter I'm sure would out perform a Civic air box.

Reminds me of my VW modding days. There was a brand called Midknight Motosports who made a slim rectangular scoop that you mold into the front lip spoiler that would connect to the airbox. There was also another part that would take the place of OEM foglights on the 93-98 Golf/Jettas that you could have a hose channeled to either your brakes or air intake.
What I did was really ghetto though. I simply removed the passenger side "fog", installed a 3" diameter sheet metal tubing...normally used in homes for..IIRC heat ducting for dryers... LOL I said it was ghetto. Anyway it would work for awhile until rocks and pebbles would perforate it and I'd have to make a new one.
