Default 97 accord LX 5 speed

Hi there, i'm new to the import scene (last car was a heavily boosted 1995 Boneville SSEi). I recently got a 1997 Accord LX.
Since i'm a college student my budjet for mods is fairly low, and i pissed it all away on the stereo (perhaps the double DIN DVD player was a foolish investment)

I'm looking to find out if it's worth putting cash into the stock F22. I really want to avoid an engine swap, and i'm looking to put out at least 250HP eventually.. any recomendations on where to start? also, anything i should know about this car? it has 82,000 miles on it and runs like a dream.

have a compression test done, to see if it can handle boost, if it can either build the block with sleeves, pistons and rods, if you are planning on running more than 10 psi daily. or boost it on stock internals up to 10 psi. boosting on stock internals 10psi will get you around 250+ whp. of course either way you go you will need a stand alone form of tuning. that will get you your hp you want. but the simple stuff first, intake, header, exhaust, suspension, rims, brakes, paint (if you want it).

to be honest i couldn't care less about the appearance of the car.. i live in the middle of the adirondacks... a fresh paint job wouldn't last a day. rims are in the works, but it's snows on the stock steel wheels for now.

the intake is an AEM short ram, and i plan to get a set of springs to drop it 1" or so come spring. Do you recomend a specefic brand of turbo/turbo kit? I used the stock Supercharger on my bonneville so i've never had to shop around for such things..
