Replacing headlinght lense
I want to replace a crooked headlinght lense. I got an entire assembly with a clean lense. In trying to remove the lense, I took off the brakets but there is some old gasket seal that glues it to the assembly. Is there a way to remove it without breaking the glass and damaging the assembly?
Also is there a way to replace just the lense without taking the bumper off and stuff ...?

From my 1990 Civic hatchback Helm's Service Manual:
1. Disconnect the 2-P connectors from behind the bulbs.
2. Turn the retaining ring nuts to OPEN position, then remove the bulbs.
3. Remove the front bumper and the 4 mount bolts, then remove the unit.

Yes,you do have to remove the bumper to
replace the headlight assembly but it is not that hard..
Here is a good link: http://www.norcalcrx.org/ht.html#bumper
If you are trying to remove the outer glass from the assembly,
[Good Luck!]
I have heard of people placing them in an oven and heating
until the glue softens..be careful bro..

I would take the ENTIRE headlight out, and you dont have to take the bumper off to get it out.
Take out the marker light
un bolt the head light
use a swivel on a 1/4 drive with a little ratchet and you will be able to get to the last bolt from the engine compartment. Its probably going to hurt your wrist, but its alot easier than taking the bumper off.
Once you have it out, if you want to seperate the glass from the plastic, you can do it with alot of patience. Use a heat gun to warm up the glass and that will loosen up the glue, then pry SLOWLEY around the seam with a large screwdriver. If you get too aggressive you will crack the light, i did my first time. I would also reccoment SAFETY GLASSES for this step. I'm no saftey nerd, but you are probably going to chip the glass near the edges when you do it and the little bits go flying right for your eyes.

just take the bumper off it takes 5 min. to take off just take out the bumper lights remove the 2 screws behind each and remove the 2 in each wheel well and its off simple huh, just replace the whole light you are not going to be able to get the lens off unless you put it in the oven to heat the glue up
