okay car has compression, car has gas, car is timed perfect, car has sparks, car has oil, car has coolant. but i dont know y the car wont start?? please i need some major help. can anyone help please.

 

Check your grounds to the engine & to the tranny.

pull out the rail w/injectors to see if the fuel is firing thru the injectors.
make sure everything is at TDC.
ign timing set.
check distributor.
check fuel pump/filter
ground
leakdown/compression

 

Make sure all sensors are hooked up.

 

also, what does your car sound like when trying to crank it over. Give me more detail as what it sounds like- hope it's something simple as the battery, starter, or alternator.

 

88-91 Civics and CRX's can have this problem if the 2 white wires at the distributor are switched. One is supposed to have a red piece of tape on it to help identify, but it's usually not there so it is easy to get them mixed up if you pop them out.

Holds true for the ZC swaps on that generation and probably other swaps too. It cranks over and sounds fine, just never starts up.

Also, check the firing order and make sure the plug wires are correct, but that's usually obvious though when you try to crank it.

 

Pest: I had the same damn problem and I kept telling myself that there was something missing in that area of the egine compartment. Sure enough it was the damn ground.

I changed the batteries 3 times cuz it sounded like the car was dead!!

Yep, check yer ground!!!!

 

is it getting fuel to the rail? mine wasnt and it gave me alot of headaches......if it is are the injectors squirting? there again mine werent.....thats what mine ended up being.....and the fuse for the efi was good, but just wasnt getting good contact?? wierd
