My vtec stopped working about 2 days after i got my oil changed on my car i ran a diagnostics and oil pressure is at 50lbs and the vtec light comes on around 5800 what else could it be could it be the solenoid?

 

my vtec stopped working right after I changed my oil one time, so i figured it was the vtec oil pressure sensor screen becoming contaminated by the new oil or some ****.

It turned out I had pulled loose one of the grounds.

don't assume it's the oil.

 

My vtec light comes on around 5500rpm though (at least thats what the mechanic said) so could it still be a loose ground wire or something even tho that it still engages vtec but doesnt kick in?

 

could be one of many things. A loose ground wire could be it.

 

how do i check if its a loose ground wire??

i dunno but my oil pressure is at 50psi could that have something to do with it

Something in same effect happened to me. I had a cel 21. Changed the oil and now after 3days it went out. I also checked all wires and plug fittings also.

 

damn what oil are u guys using so I wont
