help i got a civic hatch back 96 with a b16a1 motor, p73 type r ecu!

My voltage meter seems to be aa little below 12 at ALL TIMES!!!!!!!!! I heard this is bad! Could this be the battery? or my alternator?sometimes my car wont start cuz of my battery! i have to jump start it once in a while! and when it does start, it takes like 3 seconds when i turn the key, then in starts!!!!!!!!

What could be my problem? What alternator can I get that would fit my b16a1? any b-series?

sounds like the voltage regulator on the alternator is dying/dead.
