i dont kno why it wont work

-fuses are ok
-car is getting power
-my clock works

what could it be??

 

bad radio ??
when did it stop as it was plaaying or just never went on when you turned the car on one day

i was driving and went to pick my bro up from school listening to the radio. i turn off the car and sit there while i wait. he comes out i turn on the car, it hesitates for a sec so i just let it go back to the on position, turn it on again and it started right up again, try to turn on the radio but it wont turn on??

 

Now would be a good time to upgrade. The stock one isn't that great.

cant afford a new one right now, anyone have any ideas?

nope the whole unit doesnt turn on, the anti theft light just blinks. when i reset my ecu the cd that was in there popped out though

 

mine went out to in fact it ate my cd...would not give it back...so i took it out and riped it apart...stock radios suck. im sure you could find one cheap on ebay..thats what i did..i spent 200 bucks on a 400.00 cd player and it has not give me any trouble at all..

 

its prolly broken...if it is powered, just not working, usually that means the internals are messed up, and to get it fixed it would probably cost more than just replacing it.

try looking at a junk yard and see if there are any 5th gens out there, and pull the radio, or spend about 250 or so, and get a new one...a pretty decent new one.

 

not to ask a dumb question but its not flashing code on the display is it? Meaning it lost power for some reason and wants the security code again? I had that happen in my 97 SH before. Something just surged and it made the radio lose power and i had to enter the code to get it working again ? ?

 

i say ebay too buy a top of the line 2 year old alpine for like $75-100.00 ruff it till you save some $$

 

no man, just get the code in there again and see if it works. I have my stock one laying around, BUT not for sale.

 

it wont even get to the part that it will let me enter the code, thats the thing!

**u know how when your car is off the anti-theft light blinks? well it blinks when the key is in and the car is on???

*** i dunno if it matters but im running a chipped p28 with uberdata, it worked when i first put it in and 2-3weeks after that just suddenly stopped working

 

did it stop working the second you put the uberdata in? If so there is just a connection issue, if it gradually faded out, there might of been too much power going to it, and it fried.

 

Not tryin to jack thread but my stereo sometimes cuts out. The music stops playing but my subs are still bumping. Power is going to my deck and its playing but no music just subs bumping...

it gradually faded... how could it be getting to much power? im gunna go up to fry's or something tom.

 

Take the radio casing off and check the internal power supply fuse hasn't blown, it will be a small clear glass fuse, if they go you can still get power on the anti-theft display but nothing after that.

ill try that, thanks man! hey also i have been using my vallet key since i couldnt find mine real key with the keyless entry and now i just found it and it doesnt work, i cant unlock or lock the doors!!! crap!!
