Dash lights Wont turn OFF even though the key is out.
Happened to my sister 92 lx.
If you turn the car off, the batt, oil pres, seatbelt light and clock stay lit even with the key out.
Fuses under the hood are good.
Any idea's?
Thanks a million

never a good thing, anything could have poped with a decent spike to reverse voltage.
Anything that doesn't work that used to?
best method of finding out where the problem is, start pulling fuses till the power goes out. (connection short to constant power)
See if wiggling the ignition switch makes any difference. (bad ignition switch)

If you know how to test your electrical system then i would start there; see what fuses/wires are still hot when the car is off and trace it back to whatever is causing the problem. You could also send your car to a electrical shop that will diagnose the problem and tell you what it is/how much but its not cheap.

Thanks for all the help guys. I am kinda thinking either the alarm or ign switch. Just wanted to see if anyone else had seen this problem and what their solution was.
Its really cold outside and the project cars is taking up the garage. She also works like 12 hour days, so its hard to find time to work on her pos car. So she is going to have to suffer with it till this weekend. She is going out of town for the holidays so it will give me something to do (unfortunately ) while I am stuck in Detroit.
Thanks for all the help everybody.

Re: (sflint)
most likley the ignition switch. the big hunk of wires opposite the where the key goes in.
My sisters ended up being her underdash fuses box was getting wet and shorting out. I replaced it and its all good so far

Re: Dash lights Wont turn OFF even though the key is out.
I recently purchased a Honda Integra 2000 with a aftermarket JVC head unit, I noticed the clock and radio reset every time I started my car, So I then checked the Interior fuse box and the radio fuse was fine, I then checked the fuse box under the bonnet and found the backup fuse was blown, I then replaced the fuse but and the clock resetting problem was fixed, but now my dash lights, cigarette lighter and radio don't turn off when the key is out, Any ideas to what the problem is would be much appreciated.

Pull the radio out and verify all wires were correctly connected. Especially the 12v constant and 12v ign wires.

I have, whenever I replace the broken fuse with a new one (correct amp fuse) it makes the dash lights go on and they don't turn off
