Default $50 through paypal if you can help me!!!

I send anyone $50 that can help me solve the problem of my car...its acting weird

I have a 1990 civic hatchback with a fresh installed b16a1 from hmotorsonline....
the car ran perfect for 6 months...untill recently. Now some days it has trouble starting, it cranks but dosent kick in fully to get the car going. Im thinking maybe i just need to change the gas filter maybe??? I already checked the spark plugs and they are new...not really sure if its the distributer...please help me out...

Yea, check all ur minor things (tune-up wise) but i heard that with the b16a u have to run a lil bit more of a premium gas, like a 91 octane cause of the higher compression ratio....is this true?

Battery good...plug wires good, main relay good, not sure about fuel pump. The car chasis only has about 120,000 miles..so i think the fuel pump should still be good...and i use highest octane availble. It sucks cause i drive about 1 hr to get to work. So some days i sit in the hot sun waiting every 10 min and i get lucky (basically starts when it wants to) im bummed!!!

ignition switch,

you say you have a new battery, and it is not cranking over.

the ignition switch is a direct link to actuating the starter.

all these people say distributor , wires , and crap.
a car will turn over without these .

wheres my 50

So its starts up slow correct ? If you let it run and warm up and shut it off and try to start it will it start up fine ?

Check your coolant temperature sensor, take it out and try cleaning it, it could have some corrosion on it.

again, my car runs like a champ...just sometimes when i try to start it, it just cranks and cranks..it feels like its right about to start but it doesnt...like its getting no gas. Also when it does start though and when i turn it off, wait a minute, crank it again, and it will easily start...Oh again when it doest start...it has no loss in power, runs normal, never died on me while running.

Was your car DPFI? - Did you convert to 4 injectors when you did the swap

If so, Its more then likely the fuel pump. - They go out because they werent built to pump that much gas.

Pump has trouble priming, but once you turn the car off it has built up pressure so it starts easily

I would guess it was your battery. Try hooking up to another car to jump yours and see if it will crank over fine.

Or if you have a volt meter you can check the voltage of your battery and more importantly check the voltage of the battery while you have someone trying to start it.

Can you push start it fine?

i dont think its the battery either...its brand new...well its dark already so im gonna check it out tommorrow, im gonna try to change the fuel filter and see what happens, and it was a dpfi... wiring was done the right way (sent the wires to hasport)...yea i think it might be the fuel pump too...im gonna have to check out tommorrow

again its like starting your car without gas...it sounds like its about to run..its cranks and cranks....

Aight i only get to post 5 post in 24 HRS... I will check my main relay in probably 3 to 4 days...i dont have that much time right now, im working alot

your problem is the mail relay. pretty much when its not firing up, turn the car off and then turn it on and see if you hear the fuel pump primering. i am positive it is that component that is going bad. when you said sitting in the hot sun, it reminded me of the problem i had, and like ifyou let the car itself cool down/ night time, it would start right up on the first time

Try turning the key on and off(after the fuel pump stops making noise) usually about 4 seconds but dont start it till you do it a couple times i have to do this with my car sometimes I dont know why it works but it does - maybe the fuel has drained back in to the tank from the lines?

Actually i have the same problem sometimes...i go to start the car and it just turns over, but doesn't crank. I've checked all the things and they're all fine. What i find odd about a lot of hondas. But i did something real dumb and got it to work. If your car sits out in the sun...and your gas cap has no way of letting out the fumes from the heat...it seems like it drowns the engine or something...i don't know. What i do is let the pressure out of the tank (loosen the cap and listen to it hiss), then wait a few minutes and boom! it cranks right up. probably not the problem but i figured i'd give it a shot since i'm poor. good luck dude.

Check your main relay with Visual Inspection...
Check your Fuel pump by turning your key to the "on" position and listen for it, if you don't hear it then check the connections to it first before replacing it. If everything checks out then have some labor infront of you.

Check for spark. (it's an important part of the process)
Check in the dizzy, there are 2 controls modules in the dizzy that OFTEN go bad in b16's (I know because I've gone through 4 of them). One control module (smaller of the 2) should be brown and on the underneath of the dizzy (with the cap off) and it's the Ignitor, usually the car with fire with a bad ignitor just to die later. The module on top (larger of the 2) goes bad very easily as well. Take these 2 parts out of any other 88-91 dizzy and swap them in to see if they are the culprit... if not then put them back and consider it a free test.
