Default D16y8 AIT sensor placement

Just trying to wrap up my install of the D16y8 and i'm tryin to figure out where you guys are putting the air intake temparature sensor. i was just gonna leave it hanging with a zip tie however the car is going to be boosted and i would just assume hook it to the manifold if possible.
Any suggestions or pics would be appericated thanks. This is going into a 88 ED thanks again

ur talking about the air intake temp sensor? the one that WAS bolted into the stock intake manifold. I have a y8 intake manifold on my car, and i drilled a hole into my air intake tube and placed it in there, works like a champ, and by the way, im getting a y8 swapped in my 88 crx today,, so excited.

Since you are boosting it you want a better seal than just drilling a hole in the intake pipe and putting it in there. The intake pipe is a cylinder so the flat surface of the IAT will never seal right.

If you look at the intake manifold from the timing belt side of the motor you can see a freeze plug looking thing. You could mount it there and it should seal well.

Maybe this is another option if you want to put it on the intake pipe?? If you ever noticed on B motors some have a screw in type IAT. My guess is that they are probably the same electrically as the IAT you have, but just packaged and mount differently. I guess this because people use those B motors with the P28 ECU all the time and I've never heard of a person having to mod their IAT to make it work with the P28. With one of those IAT's you could mount it on the intake pipe and it would be fine. Mayber have a bung welded into the pipe so you have threads and all that.
