IIRC, '97-'98s were spared from the faux cf treatment.

Who ever wrote up the description, is a pretty good and honest salesman. 14K is a little to much for a salvage and an 98, but with those miles and the fact that it's a Rrrr. It makes sense, there will be that someone that will come to nothing in owning a TypeR. It'll probably sell.
to CW ITR's.....

that 98 r has 106k on it but it is a clean title for 12000
the one on ebay probably had the motor stolen...? so who knows how many miles it has on it? maybe he said in the description but it was a very long and in depth description but good

Honest salesman to say the least. 28k seems fishy, hardly any miles and all those dents and seat rips? Salvage title answers some questions, maybe he's spent the last few years repairing it or something?
Oh yea, the OEM shift **** is not missing either, the 98's come with that shift ****.

I thought the same thing, the condition of the car isn't really indicative of the claimed mileage. Regardless, too much money for the condition and title. And yes, '98s had a black leather shift **** with red stitching.
I seen this car in my local classfieds and called them thinking this was such a great deal until they told me it was a theif recovery
The two guys I spoke to seemed very honest and nice
