Anyone have any specs for the JDM accord type r engine? its a f20 block. I helping my friend put one into his civic and was wondering what the specs for this motor are. thanks.

 

the accord type-r/euro-r uses a h22a7 not a f20b, f20b is found in the accord sir-t

its basically a de-stroked h22, ithink it might share the same crank as the s2k, but dont quote me on it, and possably the same hes from h22, no powersteering, as it is controlled by remote electro-servos

 

The F20B is a mysterious engine indeed. I've never seen a detailed write up of it. Like Misa said it's basically a destroked H22, but the head and valvetrain surely differ as well. Single or dual intake runners? Who knows? ECU? Dunno.

 

yea its a wierd engine. It has what looks identical to a h22a head on it. Same stamp (p13) Bottom end is stamped f20b has the same auto tensioner as the h22a for the timing belt. Has dual intake runners with the butterflies as well. The mounts are the same as the mounts from an accord. there is no ps pump as its electronic. There is only one belt on the crank side for AC and alten. The AC bracket is alum also! Nice blue valve cover. Same header as the h22a. Just wondering the potential of this compared to the h22a? The wirings a bitch, all the plugs are 99-obd2 wiring, everything connects straight to the ecu.

 

I think it'd be cheaper (and more powerful) to get a super-tweaked H22 instead of getting an F20B to work in North America.
But of course an F20B would be original, just don't get upset when a H22A blows its doors off.

 

Potential compared to an H22. Honestly, not much. First the H22 has a much stronger aftermarket, and second displacement.

 

doesnt the F20 only make 150 or 170hp?

 

The automatic version of the f20 motor puts out 180 Hp, and manual transmission of the Accord SIR-T motor puts out 200HP.

 

I think you're thinking of the JDM DOHC non-VTEC F22 which put out around 160.

 

ITS THE DOHC VTEC MOTOR like the h22a, but instead it is destroked to a 2.0

manual transmission is 200 HP
automatic tranny is 180 HP
