tech: car idles super low when ac is turned on.....
For just the first 10-30 seconds, the car idles at like 500 instead of the normal 800 rpm after the AC is turned on.....
Then it jumps up to 1100 and holds there, occasionally falling back to 500 and sitting there.....

Weird, I know. PS is removed, but what should I check?

The Helm states that it should idle higher when the A/C on (over 1K rpms I know). I did a checkup on all of this about two months ago, did timing, idle adjustment, and tested it with the A/C on and off and everything was in spec. I'd go through those few simple tests to make sure everything is in check, get a calibrated accurate RPM gauge, dont use the gauge cluster, it can be innacurate, I just went to Sears bought one and returned it.

29000 miles.....
But the ac makes the car idle funny. Hi, then low...
My itr has no issue, but my hatch with the itr swap and ac has some issue.....
I have a vafc to check the rpm's, that's not the problem... idle goes as low as ~500-~600 ...
Nobody knows of the simple thing to check?
I'll look in the helms when I get home tonight.
It wouldn't be an issue, but those damn spec c's got my computer confused! lol

*Sounds* normal to me. Any Honda that I've driven with AC will idle a couple hundred (indicated) lower than with AC off. Just more for the engine to turn.

It should be MORE rpms since the engine has load on it to compensate for the parasitic loss due to the compressor running the belt.

.....this is correct.
Who said something about resetting the idle, and how do you do that?
