where to get collector/exhaust tabs?
not sure if this is the right forum....
like this

used to keep exhaust slip connections from slipping off or getting loose.
weld one on each end of the pipes, and a bolt and nut is used to tighten and pull the 2 connections together.
I know burns stainless sells them but I want to see if there are cheaper places or cheaper alternatives. burns sells them for 9 bucks a piece.
TIA

buy some Stainless steel nuts...buy a spring. weld one nut on one side...the other on hte other and connect them with the spring. tada!
cool, I'll sell what materials I can use to fab some up.
I cant use springs, cause I need to use the bolt to tighten the connections together so they seal well. springs can't pull enough.

I'm thinking of using thin flat bar, and bending into a U, just need to figure out what to do to keep the bolt up off the piping.

if your going to use a flat bar then you could just weld in a small, maybe 1/8", rod across one end of each of the Us to keep the bolt up. Won't take much.
What about using a short tube with either one thick spacer down the middle or two thin ones like in your picture?

i did the nut idea on a DSM exhaust before.
but we took a steel piece of metal (just had a sheet). welded a nut to that, then welded the sheet (cut down of corse) to the exhaust, it came out nicely. you could do the smae instead of a nut, use a piece of round pipe.
