Default Boosting an ITR

i did a search and never got any search results, i wanna know the best route to go for my goal

my goal is between 250-275whp. the car is my daily driver so im trying to keep it somewhat reliable, the motor wont be touched, its a jdm b18c w/18k miles on it. Im trying to find which turbo kit or turbo parts would be best for me. Id like to have a faster spooling turbo then one that throws down insane power. Sense my goal is only 250-275whp a huge t3/t4 wouldnt be necessary, id rather just have a nice size turbo that spools quick and pulls to redline.

what turbo would be best for me?
whats the expectency life on a turbo itr motor?
is my 250-275whp goal achieable without damaging the motor?

what type of boost controller should i run? ive already got hondata

You search my ***: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=997513

If you want a simple turbo setup, get a kit like drag or revhard. Your hondata will also need boost option if you wanna tune it.

i went with t04b 50 trim, .48 a/r stage 2 wheel.. 2.5" dp and exhaust.. it still made peak hp at the end of powerband.. like 8700rpm. as far as reliability.. read my sig.. you don't really need a boost controller, but if you must, go with electronic with lcd so you can control from the inside. for all other refer to FI forum archives.. its all pretty general from there for b series

I would go with a straight t3/t4. They are perfect for the street. Those pissy mitsu wannabe turbos like a t28 for example are not quite reliable and it will limit your powergoals.

The life of the motor will last depending how well you maintain it and how well tuned it was.

Yes. Those goals are very attainable with a good sized turbo and fuel system. The motor should be safe up to 300whp. Anything more would be pushing it.

You can't turbo a b18c, too high compression.

(j/k see sig for b18c5 with GReddy)

Yeah, but the LS kit's intake pipe fits better *shrug*.

Internal gate spiked on my setup. Stock motor. It wouldn't bypass enough exhaust. Tial 38mm took care of that!
