Default D16y8 pistons/rods interchangable w/ a D16z6??

Here's the problem......I bought all the parts to assemble my d16y8 (pistons/rods/bearings/studs) and the block threads are messed up for the head studs. I was going to transfer all the parts to the spare z6 block I have......are the pistons and rods the same size? or will the y8 internals not work on the z6??? Thanks for the replies.

I have a z6 head......I bought 9:1 comp pistons for boost.....if I could use them, would my comp. ratio stay the same?

if you use the stock y8 pistons and use the z6 block and head your comp ratio will go up to 9.8:1 from 9.1:1

IMO, I'd rather go w/ 9.8:1, you will see more power at the same boost level. What's wrong w/ that?

Well I have aftermarket pistons (srp 9:1) pistons made for the y8......if I take those pistons and rods for the y8, will I have any trouble w/ clearences or anything? And will the comp. ratio still change since they are aftermarket?
