Default 99 ls distributor wiring

b18b in a 99 civic dx, si wiring harness... the ls distributor has 9 wires, and the si plug has 8 wires.. it seems there's an extra blue wire next to the black/yellow wire.. what is the blue wire for? also on the LS harness, the black/yellow wire is thicker than the other wires, and on the si harness, the black/yellow wire is the same gauge as the rest of them.. is that a problem?

Is the blue wire for the tachometer signal? Maybe the dx doesn't have a tach?

I looked at the wiring for our '98 Accord. The tachometer is driven by the ECU, so there's no blue tach wire coming from the distributor. It's also only got a CYP sensor in the distributor, no CKP or TDC. So you can't really count on different years & different models to be the same. To really answer your question completely, you'll need THREE wiring diagrams; Your car, the SI where you got the harness, & the Integra where you got the engine. Don't forget they're different from year to year, too...

The missing tach signal wire is not a problem, the ECU still sees it. If you still dont have an RPM gauge on your cluster it is not a problem.
