Default Help me with my prelude pleeze..

OK, Long story Short.. my bestfriend had a 99 prelude. He decided it was time to get a new car without realizing his lack of parking. So the lude chills at the dealer where he bought the rx8 after realizing he has no where else to put it, so he sold it to me for $3k. Cheap for a prelude of this gen but it has 165k miles. Its an automatic, and i want to keep it that way. I just wanted to know if u guys can give me a heads up on upcoming repairs that may occur. It runs great. Actually it purrs like new. The interior is perfect. All the miles are highway miles. Do you know what a slighty used auto tranny will run me for this car? A new engine perhaps??

I have a JDM H22 auto tranny for your car that I just got a week ago. I bought a auto tranny swap for my car cause I got a good deal on it and used the manual that was in my car.
It has less than 45k on it and I would let it go pretty cheap. Let me know if your interested.

Good Luck.

New motor and tranny (5spd manual transmission) will run you about 2000 bucks, roughly.

If you are buying just the motor, about 1200.

Why do you need a new motor or tranny? Drive the car and be happy.

Yep, timing belt should be the first priority.

amen, find out the maintenance schedule and go from there. Your manual should give you a good idea of when to do specific maintenance. Welcome to preludes
