Don't. Most of the H23VTEC death stories start with "I was taking it up to 8,200 rpm when..."

I rev my H23 VTEC to fuel cut daily. That's 7600 RPM for those of you n00bs. Haven't had a problem related to it yet.

Oh, and BTW: I opted to NOT install the oil squirters in my motor. They're only good for extended periods of very high RPM's, IMO.

LOL............ well i was taking mine to about 8300 max when pop goes the rod bearing. anyways im building another one now and this one would rev to about 7600 no need to bring it higher. if you need something that revs higher go with h22

so just rev to stock h23 vtec?

They dont make a performance crank for h23 so you can rev higher?

if the engine good i would think it would peak power around 7500 with stock cams so theres no point to take it over 8grand so i would maybe go to 7800rpms so u can keep the good shift points and stay in the power zone

nothing wrong with reving it over 8grand with a h23 crank it the engine makes power up there

i rev mine to 8,000rpms with a h23 head still

as long as you crank, head and everything else is stock (internals for block) are the same or with high comp pistons, you should be aight. just be careful after 7500 or so. read SatanSRV's thing. he has an h23vtec (or had) that went bad. personnally i wont go over 7500 once i do my Vtec conversion.
