well its easy all u need are restiors because thats all that the pills are but the are all diff ohms...u can get these at radio shack 4 99 cent pack of 4....get a pill that is higher or lower than what u want mesure the ohm of the msd pill and find a res.. that is lower or higher than that...every 1k ohm u might gain or lose 250to500 rpm im not sure cause i have not done much reserch on diff pills..for ex i needed a pill lower than 3000 so i mesure the ohm of the 3 grand and just went with a lower ohm res...go ahead and give it a try

for the shift light ?

 

if you run vtec and you are obdo, you can run an MSD RPM activated switch, This switch needs RPM pills that engage the switch at a certain rpm and then gives 12V to the vtec solenoid. Im getting a y8 swapped in friday, and im running the msd, my mechanic said i can use one of his, but now i might look into this, thanks paatner

When you buy a msd 6al it comes with a built in rev limiter. you can control how high you car is able to rev buy placing these pill shape things on the bottom of the msd, the rev limiter is there to help you not over rev your engine

the stock rev limiter is there so you don't blow your engine up, and if you're engine is built to handle higher rpm's than stock....who would try and ghetto-fab it like that?
