just wondering wut kind of redline transmission fluid should i use in my b series trans (y80) jus cuz i hear it stops some grinding so i wana try it out, but there are like 4-5 diff types of man trans fluid from redline.....?? which one should i use
you can always check their website and they'll give you a good description for their products and their uses, but you should use either MTL or MT-90 and you'll be fine. If grinding is a problem, most people on here have found that using GM synchromesh (friction modified) is the best way to go.
I had a grinding transmission and I switched to Redline and the grinding became a lot worse. It was a 91 LS tranny and I used 10W30 like the manual stated for that year model, before they came out with Honda Manual Transmission fluid.
You're not supposed to use any type of gear oil in a Honda tranny.
Now I'm running Penzoil Syncromesh(same as GM Syncromesh) and the grinding from 1st to 2nd went away. I'm still not sure if it will have any ill effects.
