Which header has the minimal ground clearance from The Great Header Test?
I must ask this as ASAP as everyone's memory is still fresh....the result really don't matter too much to me because the intense level of meteor sized pot holes in my area that really limited the choice of headers that I can use.
If anyone pay special attention to the ground clearance after comparing the headers installed during the TGHT...please let me know them by order, least to most....and if possible compare them to the stock header.

I really didn't pay attention, but for what it's worht, we had 2 spoon's (4-2-1's) there and both had bottomed out, None of the others had. The one we tested had just a tiny dimple, while another was scraped up pretty bad.

One Spoon header was sent in from Mike @ IPS. That was the one that was pretty scraped up. I don't know if he had that on his car or not. Mike, how did that header get scraped?
The other was originally on canuckr's car, stock height. I should clarify, it wasn't bottomed out, but he drove over something if I remember correctly.

Are you saying that the supposedly huge Hytech header isn't lower than Spoons? And Mugens are suppose to be lower than Spoons as well...

I bolted both the Spoon and Mugen up from under the car, and really I didn't notice anything, but I sure wasn't looking.

Made me learn my lesson - Wake up before driving. Never had a problem before that.
We should have taken measurements like that.
We didn't have a HyTech so no idea on that. The Jun, Toda and Type One are probably all about the same for ground clearance and are the best since they are the traditional style 4-2-1s. Out of the 4-1s (which have less ground clearance then the above 3) the JDM ITR is the best followed by DC JDM and Mugen (probably about the same) and then the Spoon. The MuTech is the same as the Mugen in that if it hits it will probably hit in the lower bends going under the pan and that remains with the HyTech mod. My ITR header has tube hanging low under the other 3, it's probably in the neighborhood of the Mugen/DC JDM/Spoon, but it's only 1 tube versus 2. If you convert your tranny to block supports to the GSR ones my header will be about as low as the JDM ITR and if you do away with the supports it will at the most hang a 1/4" below the lowest part of the oil pan.

I've never heard of GSR block support converted onto ITRs...but will look into it if there are more availiable infomation.
The ITR uses a cast aluminum piece to cover the flywheel and act as the support. The GSR uses 2 "L" shaped brackets and a sheet metal cover. Yes, this would be for my flat tube 4-1. This header is just a tad cheaper than the ITR since there is one less weld to do and therefore has one less bend also.
