Default Uncontrollable Rev?????

HELLLLP!!!! Can anybody pleasssse help me. . . I have a 99 prelude, h22a motor, jdm limited slip tranny, AEM CAI, DC Sports Headers, Greddy Evolution exhaust, ACT stage 2 clutch . . . At ANY speed, as long as the car is moving, if i press the clutch, the car stays revving at about 4000 rpm. . . It will stay at 4000 until the car comes to a complete stop and then drops and stays at idle a little high. . . . anybody ever had this problem or know what it might be from???

IMO, I would check out the throttle body, and TPS (throttle position sensor) first. These are the two main components that have control over idle. I had my throttle body sticking open slightly, so I was idleing at around 1800-2100 and so my TPS was throwing a code. I changed the TPS thinking it was the prob and it turned out to be the body so check it out.

Also make sure you have a little play (1/4in at least play in the throttle cable) if not that can cause it to stick.

Good Luck!

Check your throttle cable. Make sure there are no kinks in it, and make sure its not SUPER tight.

What RPM are you idling at? anywhere from 650-800 is normal

if any of those sensors were bad or not reading correctly it would be throwing a CEL.

horay for honda CEL's. I helped my uncle diagnose his dodgy intrepid. It would completely die. No code, no hints, nothing. Really long story short, it turned out to be the crank sensor. Honda would've thrown a code for that. On the intrepid we could disconnect the sensor with the engine running and it still wouldn't throw a code. Anyway, a little OT. Just be glad you are working on a honda sensor problem...

if i had to take a stab at your problem, id say its the TPS. When mine crapped out on my old civic, whenever i pushed in the clutch, it revved up and down from about 2000 to 4000 rpms.
