«« Water Pump, T-belt, etc...what else do i need/should do? B16 »»
Hello. Here is the rundown:
1st gen b16, installed March of '01, unknown mileage, apprx. 60K miles since then. No major maintenance at all, only regular oil changes, cleaning air filter and transmission fluid. Just swapped the CVs w/in the past 2 weeks. Other than the occasional tank of gas, that's it.
It's time for the following parts/services (at least):
Water Pump (dohc del sol) pt#: 19200-P30-003 $ 86.06 (OEM)
Timing Belt (same) pt#: 14400-PR3-004 $ 46.55 (OEM)
Alt. Belt (generic) belt#: 4PK775 $ 15 (AutoZone)
A/C belt (same) belt#: 4PK830 $ 15 (AutoZone)
Valve Adjustment
Are there any other misc. parts, gaskets, seals, valves, etc...that should be checked and or replaced while i'm at it? Valve cover gasket, i'm assuming? Should i do the cam seals while it's open? They are less than $5 apiece.
I'm farming this out, so i want to make sure i have all the little parts & pieces i need when i drop the car off, down to the washer, seal, bolt, whatever.
Anybody have a labor guesstimate in hours? According to the online manual i looked @, it was in the neighborhood of 4 hours total, but that's billed individually, not as one big blitz...does this seem on target? Doesn't seem like it would take a pro this long, although i'm sure they'd still charge me for it
Please chime in with anything i may not have covered or should have looked at or into. Once i get the car back i personally plan to flush the coolant, replace thermostat, check cap & rotor, um, that's all i can think of off the top of my head...
¿Anything else?
TIA to the H-T community...

Cam seals & crank seal all together would be <$15, how bad is the install if you're already in there?
Dist. O-ring should be easily replaced when i check the cap & rotor, right? No need for the motor to be open?
Valve cover gasket would be from any b16, i'd assume? I have a 1st gen.
Fuel filter, np, but how do you go about cleaning the throttle body? Apologies if that sounds ultra n00b, but i've never done it before.
As far as a clutch goes, that'll have to wait as i'm monetarily challenged at the moment. Hopefully this can be put off until i can do a clutch/flywheel combo, as it seems to be working fine, and i'm not too abusive, so it should last awhile longer.
Thanx to all for the replies, everyone keep 'em coming!
